Study abroad in Italy summer 2016!

Hello all,
I am leading a study abroad course this upcoming summer to central Italy. If you are a student (undergrad or grad) please consider participating! If you are faculty, please pass this information along to your students or to whomever else may be appropriate.

The “Texas State to Tuscany” program is worth six (transferable) university credits at the undergraduate, masters, or PhD level. Students do not need to be enrolled at Texas State University to participate. We will be in country for four weeks and will live in three different regions of Central Italy: Marche, Umbria, and Tuscany. Course dates are May 28 – June 25, 2016. Topics to be covered in the courses are the Geography of Food and Agriculture and Rural Sustainability. The program is designed to be hands-on and experiential, meaning each week there are multiple tours, tastings, excursions, and workshops. The price for the four-week program is $5576 and includes: tuition for two 3-credit courses, international health and travel insurance, all in-country transportation, all in-country lodging, all tours/tastings/excursions/workshops, and approximately half of the meals. All considered, the cost is a bargain for the experience to be gained! Attached you will find a flyer for the course and a draft itinerary. Please do not hesitate to contact me for more information at
